The rear windows on a 1979 Super Beetle convertible are replaced by prying away the rubber molding holding the glass in place. The glass can then be slowly lifted away before new sealant and glass is installed.
It's glued in. you'll need to remove the trim around the glass then cut the glue.
The rear window glass on a Honda Civic is held in place by a silicone sealer. Remove the old glass be prying it away from the car. Clean off any residue of the sealant. Properly line up the window and use the silicone sealer to glue to window to the car.

The rear window of your 1998 BMW 323 convertible can be replaced. Most BMW dealerships service department will replace the window.
If this is the terminal mounted on the window, clear silicone is best.
It is probably embedded in the rear window glass. In convertible models I believe it is inside the passenger door.
If you're talking about the rear glass window on a convertible top, try using double-sided sticky tape, the kind auto parts stores sell for installing plastic side molding. It works great, just clean the area well before you apply it.
