its really simple. All you do first is tack your pony up and untie it, then go out of the stable (your horse will follow you out and out the barn), go out the barn. There you will see your pony waiting for you at the mounting block, click on your pony. (the computer will get you on your pony.) Now when your on your pony you can go on two different tracks all you need to do is click on the one you want to go for a ride then if you don't know how to ride read the instructions that will pop up when you click on a track. Then off you go.

To race you need to have bought a horse from Olson's and have no outstanding boarding fee's to be payed off. Then you need to ride your pony to the Wiggin's estate, when you reach the first section where there is a wooden shed, dismount your pony and you will see something that says 'Pony Pal Derby' click on that and it will take you to the race.
