Ok, im going to answer something logical and WAY better than the last answer, since that answer was RIDICULOUSLY stupid. Ok, to go steady, you must first know what "going steady" means. It means that you both (you and your boyfriend and or girlfiend) agree to just date each other, and not date anyone else. It's basically the absolute OPPOSITE of an OPEN relationship. An open relationship is when you can date, but you may also both flirt, meet other people, or date other people whilst still dating you, without having issues or getting jealous or anything like that. To go steady, you must both agree to get serious with your relationship, and agree not to flirt or see other people. People usually go steady when they are sure they will have a future life together, and or get married, have kids, ect. And teenagers usually dont end up going steady, because, well, you know teenage boys, most are VERY flirtacious and or players. But I believe that mature enough teenagers may go steady and wheather or not they plan to get married and have a future life together, or just date, but exclusively, can make it work.

Steady dating is when you have an "offical" boyfriend or girlfriend. If you go on dates with someone, that is different because you go on dates with different people, but if you are dating someone constantly, it becomes steady, or non changing, so you are steady dating.
