In the computer and Xbox 360 edition (downloadable and disc), you have to have frame made of obsidian, it's like this: O=Obsidian

It is a base of 4 blocks and a height of 5 blocks. Be well protected if on survival and have blocks such as cobblestone, bricks, stone brick, obsidian, Nether brick (including Nether brick fences), iron bars, iron doors, and anything that has more than a 20.17 blast resistance because a Ghast's fireballs can't destroy them.

Once completed, light it on fire. this will make a portal to the nether. stand in it for about 3-5 seconds to be transported to the nether. Good luck and happy hunting!
