if they are truly self absorbed, it might be worth you almost completely rejecting the idea that the conversation's topic will ever change to you, all I'm saying is it's very likely even if they truly love everything about you that it just feels too natural to them to talk about themselves.
so I suppose the way to deal with them is to just let them be self absorbed, because people who are completely obsessed with themselves barely know what's going on outside the tiny bubble they live in anyway!
