Is this security guard your employee?
If so, you probably need to get evidence of his disorderly conduct and neglect of duties and confront him with a verbal warning.
If the problem persists, progress to write-ups.
If he continues, you could put him on unpaid suspension or fire him with the three strikes, you're out rule.
If he's a friend, and this drinking problem is effecting his job performance and personal life. A crisis intervention with friends and family is strongly suggested.
Depending on the state, you might be able to have him Baker Acted by a judge if you think he's a danger to himself or others. A court-ordered Baker Act would put him in a secure facility for 72hours where he could be processed and put into In-Patient or Out-Patient Rehabilitation.
I would consider contacting your local Alcoholics Anonymous Rep and see what kind of options you can work with.
