How do you i keep my mower from shutting off when i get off the seat?

Find the sensor which is located under the seat, there will be two wires connected to it. Cut them off the sensor and join them together. The sensor is there for your safety, if u fall off the mower will stop running
Most tractors will stay running if you put every thing out of gear.

If you are saying that the mower shuts off when you engage the blades (or put the lever for the blades in the up position) then the most common problem is a bad seat safety switch. This is located under the seat. It has two wires going to it.
