Best Answer

The tools to identify potential conflict differ based on the size of the group to be monitored, the strength of convictions, and unwillingness to negotiate, but fall into some general parameters.

1) Uncompromising: If one party believes its values need to be satisfied exactly to its specifications and a second party is at least assertive, then there is a high likelihood of potential conflict arising.

2) Rude Behavior: If one party continually disrespects another party, this can breed resentment in the latter and produce conflict.

3) Extreme Statements/Beliefs: If one party makes statements or expresses beliefs that are on the edges of acceptable/normal beliefs (i.e. arguing that some races are superior to others etc.) this is prone to increasing conflict from those who are directly or indirectly implicated by those beliefs.

4) Harassment: If one party perpetually annoys or does activities to provoke a second party, conflict is not far off.
