If you are looking at the back of the rear end axle and you see a cover in the centre held on by 9 bolts, then you have what is called a 7 1/4 rear end. If there are no bolts and it's just a smooth but a half moon raised area, then it's an 8 3/4 rear end and it sure can take a lot of abuse!!!
the duster came out in 1970.
That all depends on the engine you have and the rear gearing in the rearend.
nope.
rear what? the backend of the car or the drivetrain rearend?

The Plymouth Duster was an American vehicle that was manufactured between the years of 1970 and 1976. The car was considered a "fastback" and also an "economy car."
sure, you can use motor plates to hold it in.
Get a heavier duty rearend. the tow capacity is based on the rearend. Chevy 10, 12, and 14 bolt rearend.
In 69 you could get whatever you wanted, a lot of impalas had the 12 bolt rearend and some had the 8.5 10 bolt rearend.
