Do you know any closeted gays? If you do, see how they act and talk. I'd think a gay man who isn't "out" would be nervous and stiff in public, and always watching how he looked and spoke. He'd be afraid to hug or kiss other men, and would probably avoid other gay men -- especially if he'd met them at a club or something.
