2 tips- an msd ignition and a trans with overdrive if you don't already have one.
The compression ratio of a 350 Chevy engine usually ranges from 8.0 and 9.0 to 1. This provides a good balance of fuel economy and power.
The 700 has a lower first gear, and, with the overdrive will give better fuel economy. The 350 is a little stronger, and cheaper.
no
The 350's from 1987 up are fuel injected.
If you do mostly city driving the 350 will do better because of the torque required to get it off the line. If you do more highway driving the 283 is a better choice for fuel economy.
i would replace with a 350 c.i.d. and a standered transmission, and modify the gear ratio via the rear ends, to improve the mechanical advantage and increase fuel economy, then buy a sling for my lead foot.
No it will not. Now it will bolt right in there but the transmission will not work and the fuel pump in the fuel tank has to much fuel pressure for a carburetor
i have a Chevy 350 small block with headers. It is terrible on rgas .What can i do to improve fuel efficiency. Also very strong smell of gas at idle and extreme when accelerating.
There have been millions of cars and trucks produced with a carbureted 350. every Chevy that offered a 350, before fuel injection any Chevy model that offered a 350 cid. engine before fuel injection.
yes
The fuel pressure is not adjustable on that vehicle.
No the fuel pressures are different 95 wasw about 10 psi 1998 is 60 psi . u need 2 change fuel pump
