I heard rumors that you can just grab a piece of "tin foil" and place it behind your ps3, making the Ps3's signal bounce off the tin making it go "one direction" causing the (connection and signal) to be stronger by atleast 20%. But make sure the ps3 and the tin foil are both facing the source of the network.
I just turned it into a wired connection with a cat 6 ethernet cable since PS3 only have Wireless G
You can increase the signal strength from the router to the ps3 by clearing the path between the two. Remove any large items that could be blocking the signal path or move the system closer to the router.
yes you definitly need 20+ signal
If you connect your modem to the router, and then using one of LAN port (router's) connect the PS3 to the router, you will not interfere with wireless signal at all.
PS3 has a G signal, but when you purchase your wireless router you are better off getting the Wireless-N-Broadband router for future connections to other devices. PS3 also is better wired than wireless and I found the signal test of the PS3 much better wired than WiFi. I also brought my Linksys by Cisco model no WRT160N wireless router at Best Buy and later saw a much better model at Sam's Club for the same price range that Best Buy had for twice the price
The signal strength of the wireless connection might be 100, but what does the connection test say about the connection speeds. I was able to increase connection speed by going wired connecting PS3 with ethernet cable to back of wireless router that was purchased for PS3 WiFi
That is the first step that PS3 takes for an online connection, next it searches for the WiFi signal as it tries to make a wireless connection. A PS3 can use the PlayStation network for free, but you must have an broadband internet service and other hardware to connect the PS3 to the internet. All the ads showing features for the PS3 state Online connectivity requires broadband internet service and network devices such as a DSL or cable modem. Most people who have this also require a router and an ethernet cable or a wireless router to allow connection of more than one device to there internet service. If you do not already have wireless internet service the wireless signals the PS3 discovers will belong to your neighbors WiFi connections and probably have low signal strength and password protection.
No. A PS3 and a computer can be ran at the same time. A internet wireless network box is able to send a signal to multiple devices.
The PS3 allows you to connect to an existing wireless connection
You have to have wireless internet and then the PS3 has the ability to connect to it.
All models of the PS3 have a built in wireless and also blue tooth.
The WiFi for the PS3 (that is part of the system and not an adapter) will seek out a WiFi signal when you attempt to set up the internet connection. It can then be set to automatically make an internet connection to either your Internet Service Provider or a strong signal that is not password protected What it does not do is provide you with internet if it is not already available. It also will not turn your internet into wireless or WiFi, you need a wireless router for that
All PS3 but the first 20 GB model are wireless. That means if you already have a wireless internet connection they can connect to it.
