Well, there are many different ways you can increase the power of your car, here are a few of them.

Electronic Control Unit (often abbreived as ECU) - this unit is like the brain of your car. It controls the amount of power and fuel your car uses. if you were to have your ECU modified (to go more faster), the power of the car will increase by about 35+ bhp (depending on the size of your engine). There are LOADS of car shops everywhere, you just need to go to one of them and ask for more power from your ECU. Cost: ECU modifications vary in cost but the price range is around £300-£500 (or if you live in America: $400-$600) but the price really does depend on the model of your car. You may think that this is expensive, but it is actually quite cheap, because it INCREASES your fuel economy!

Then there's the turbo. Now, turbos are quite expensive, ranging from £4000-£7500. However, turbos are extremely good to sqeeze the most out of your engine. Some cars, you can get around 70-100BHP!!! but again, it always depends on the size of your engines and whether it is petrol or diesel. Diesel engines are the best engines because you can get the most power from them. the best engines are the ones that are: 2.0L and above - you can get alot more power than those less than this size.
