How to Run Faster
How I came upon the theory on how to run faster happened when I was helping coach a kid's soccer team. I started noticing the faster kids and how they ran compared to the slower kids. Also do you remember seeing your kids run or when you where in school and the teacher had us run. We all started in a pack and then the line started to grow. So this is what I discovered. I asked 4 children to run across the field with me. Who ever was the fastest I left over to the side out of hearing range and I asked the other 3 Children to lift their heels higher when they ran. Not to touch their butt but to come close to it and to look at the finish line when we ran back. When we lined up again and ran back, from the faster child being 6ft faster than the others to all 4 children being the same speed at the finish line. With this one change it changes 5 things. You will automatically lift your knee higher, use your hamstring more, take a longer stride, and use your toe and ankle muscles more to propel your foot up to your butt. Pushing your chest forward to the point where you feel like you are going to fall forward until you get used to this feeling. It increases your speed by 6 ft or ½ a second in the 100 yard dash. Children need to see and feel results in order to achieve their goals.
Building endurance really is not as complicated as people might think. All you have to to is run at acomfortable pace for about thirty to twenty minutes to begin with. Then, you can slowly build up that time as you feel the runs start to get easier.
The key is to go easy however. Do not try to set a PR every time that you go out on a run. I run a 17:00 three mile (5:40 pace) and my typical endurance base run is about 8-9 miles at a 7:40 pace.
The main area of difficulty most people have is committing the time to do endurance runs, as they tend to be long and boring (especially on a treadmill). To counter this, find a fun route to run and/or a group to run with. Patience pays off.
The most important way to get faster is to have a knowledgeable trainer to critique your running and suggest improvements. Many think that sheer effort can make you run faster, but this is simply not true.
If you want to run a longer time, first start out slow, than get faster and faster. The key is not to stop running-unless you're about to die-and to not give up.
Say if you were running for 75 min., you would run the first 15 min. you would jog slowly and calm.
The next 15 min. you would run slowly at a normal pace, getting faster and faster very slowly.
Close to the end, you would walk for about 2 to 3 min, and start sprinting as fast as you can. And at the end, it will feel better because you sprinting using all your energy.
I hope this helped!
BYE!
Poo yourself. You'll run so fast to get away from the shame...and the taunting taunting laughter...buahhahahahaaa.

Hi
I can give you some good tips...
Hope this is helpful and I hope you have fun!=)
Mileage, mileage, and more mileage. I'm not fast in the mile, but with just mileage I will run about a 4:40 during CC season, and a 4:20 during track season with speed work.
Speed work should only be done when you get to that point where mileage will no longer help you, then cut some mileage and add speedwork such as 3 x 1 mile repeats at a little slower than fastest mile. I.e. I'll do 3 x 1 mile repeats in 4:55 pace.
Practice! Make sure your form is perfect! Arms go down to a 90 degree angle and up 90 degrees! Try to bring your knees up as far as you can!
