How do you initiate a conversation with ex boyfriend?

Well depending on how your relationship ended with you ex, depends on how you should go about talking to him again. If you see him on a regular basis then i would suggest that you just start with small talk by simply saying hello. If you dont see him that often then a friendly phone call will do. Just pick up the phone and start by saying, " Hi, just wanting to know how things were going?" or "How have you been?" Small talk can lead to just friendship if that is what you are wanting.

There is only ONE way to reestablish communication with your ex without coming across as needy; that is wait until you are not needy. Find a way to fill that need yourself with things that either expand your personal horizons, such as a project or hobby or an extracurricular subject or activity; or that help others with their needs like your family, church or community organization. These types of activities will make you a more confident, definitely less needy person.

If you already are doing these things and 'they're not helping', then you've chosen the wrong things or chosen them for the wrong reasons. Readjust your perspectives and find what does work for you.

Well, make sure that you are both OK from the break up. If you notice that you're over it but the other person is not, then ask if they are OK. If you both are over the break up, then ask about the other person's day, classes job family and such.
