I think you have to move the battery to the trunk. I got a new intake system for my 1995 neon and just had to remove the factory system first. Try going to Procarparts.com .This is where I got mine from. Hope this helps..
The intake valves can hit the exhaust valves.

Your sensor is part of the MAP sensor which is located On the SOHC look behind and to the left under the top radiator hose you'll see the wires going into a fitting. On the DOHC it's to the right of the oil dipstick under the fuel rail.

The water pump is timing belt driven. You should buy or borrow a service manual, as this is a very intensive repair.
