Locate the lower radiator hose and follow it up to the end. Loosen the two bolts that hold the housing in place. Remove the thermostat and install in the new one.

Follow the top radiator hose down to the water outlet on the engine. The stat is in there.
According to the manual, 87 octane, regular unleaded is adequate. I have a '98 CRV with nearly 200k and that's all I use.
The expansion valve, on your 1998 Honda Accord, is located just before the thermostat housing. You can follow the water hose from the radiator to the expansion valve.
98 accord does not have a rear axle- just spindle/hub/bearing

Indicates a braking system malfunction! Problem with the master cylinder - or - the ABS pump is not operating. Have it checked out right away.
there are 2 10mm bolts where the radiator filler neck mounts to the engine block, remove them and pull the filler neck off the thermostat is underneath
