you have to get a haynes or chilton manual to do it. even shops use one for this process. they are only $20 but then you can do anything to you car. it will tell you to get an engine hoist but you can use a jack under the transmission pan. just get a piece of plywood or something to disperse the weight or you will crack the pan! if the chain is already broken or it has skipped more than 3 teeth on the gears than there is a good chance you have damaged the pistons or valves. your motor is and interference motor.... one of the worst inventions ever! i just went to do my timing chain and ended up having to change the whole motor! after you fallow the steps and get the chain off. then take the dust cover off on the flywheel and see if you can turn the crank through a whole cycle without it jamming up. just make sure to go counterclockwise! the manual will tell you all this. just cross your fingers and hope for the best. but honestly the outcome is usually not very good! best of luck!
timing chain. the timing chain is ment to last as long as the motor does . does not require replacement unless it breaks and if it does i hope its not a interfearence motor
The 3.0 liter " VULCAN " V6 used in a Ford Ranger has a timing chain
the Chrysler 3.3 has a timing chain. the 3.0 is the v6 motor that uses a timing belt.
yes
In a 2002 Ford Ranger : The 2.3 liter DOHC four cylinder engine has a timing CHAIN
The Ford 4.0 liter SOHC - V6 engine has ( 3 ) timing chains
Why are you replacing the cam chain on a 2.4 Liter Honda? They will normally last the life of the engine.
no the valvesn will not be damaged this is not a intefearance motor
It has a timing chain. The chain is inside the motor, and runs across both cams and down to the crank shaft, which is located on the left hand side of the engine block.
You should have a timing chain not a belt on that 3.0 liter motor. They last 300k or more and rarely ever have to be changed
The 2003 Hyundai Accent 1.6 liter 4 cylinder engine has a timing BELT
Alot. The time is needed to expose the timing chain (a lot of other parts in the way) and being sure it is installed properly. Improper installation can be fatal to your motor.
