Open rear door hatch. There on top of the rear tail lights you will see two or three screws. Remove those screws and gently remove the tail lights. When your done with the tails lights reinstall.

I own a 1999 Ford Expedition and recently swapped out taillights. After removing the screws visible on the tailights, use something small, strong, and thin to pry the taillight, but make sure you only pry till you hear a pop, then move to another location on the tailight. Whats holding your taillight in place are plastic punture screws that pop in and out of their set holes, there are three in total.
