1. Take the drive shaft loose from the rear end.
2. Slide the drive shaft rearward out of the transmission.
3. Disconnect the shifting linkage from the transmission.
4. Loosen then remove the bell housing bolts of the transmission.
5. Support the transmission with a jack and slide it out of the engine.
6. Take the bell housing off of the engine.
7. If it is an automatic transmission remove the torque converter.
8. If it is an automatic transmission remove the flex plate.
9. If it is a stick shift loosen the pressure plate and take it off the flywheel.
10. Unbolt the flywheel from the engine.
11. Install a new bushing in the flywheel for the pinion shaft of the transmission.
13 Installing new flywheel is the reverse of these steps.
