If it has an installer just follow the directions and it will install it into the Applications folder which is the default location.
If it just simply states drag it to your Applications folder or desktop then drag the file to the Applications folder or where ever you want it (should be in the Applications folder unless you know what your doing) either via the Dock or via the HD.
