If you are asking this question, you have most likely turned the BASS all the way up and completely fried them so they sound like a duck and buzz a lot. Time to put better ones in.
Get the best brand-name car speakers you can afford. The mid-ranges (in the doors) most likely will also need replacing, too. For the sub-woofers, look at the underside from the trunk, and you can see what will fit without modification.
