On a 22re there is a bracket that looks like a wishbone on the driver side of the block that is part of the Power Steering bracket. It mounts with the "u" facing up and fits around the water pump out port. It is however a good ideat to bolt up the metal heater core pipe that mounts directly behind it first. Good luck
Disconnect the negative battery cable Remove the drive belts. Remove the power steering pump pulley. Remove the alternator. Raise and safely support the vehicle. Remove the splash shields. Remove the power steering pump mounting bolts and position the pump aside, without disconnecting the power steering hoses. Remove the automatic transmission cooler line brackets. Mark the position of the driveshaft on the axle flange and remove the front driveshaft. Remove the wiring harness bracket and the automatic transmission cooler line bracket that is next to the starter. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the starter. Remove the fuel and brake line shield. Remove the starter mounting bolts and remove the starter. Clean the mounting surface flanges. Place the starter motor into position and install the mounting bolts. Tighten the starter mounting bolts to 27-38 ft. lbs. (37-52 Nm). Install the fuel and brake line shield. Connect the starter motor wiring. Install the wiring harness bracket. Connect the driveshaft. Install the transmission cooler line brackets. Install the power steering pump and the splash shields. Lower the vehicle. Install the alternator. Install the power steering pump pulley. Install and tension the drive belts. Connect the negative battery cable.
Disconnect the negative battery cable at the battery. Raise and safely support the vehicle. Remove the electrical connections from the back of the starter. Remove the bell-housing cover. Remove the starter support bracket bolt from the engine block. Unfasten the starter motor-to-engine bolts, then carefully lower the starter. Remove the nuts/bolts that hold the starter support bracket to the starter. To install: Transfer the starter support bracket to the new starter if the starter is being replaced. Raise the starter into position and secure the starter using the starter motor-to-engine bolts. Tighten the bolts to 32 ft. lbs. (43 Nm). Install the starter support bracket-to-engine bolt to 24 ft. lbs. (32 Nm). Install the bell-housing cover. Install the starter electrical connections on the back of the starter. Tighten the S terminal to 22 inch lbs. (2.5 Nm) and the battery terminal to 106 inch lbs. (12 Nm). Carefully lower the vehicle, then connect the negative battery
Some have 2 bolts, others have 3 bolts and a few have another bracket for support at the front of the starter. Depends on the application you failed to mention.
The starter is on the front of the engine, behind the engine mount bracket. The starter is on the front of the engine, behind the engine mount bracket.
Begin by removing the positive cable from your 1995 Saab battery. Remove the cables from the front of the starter. Remove the starter retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install your new starter.
First remove the battery from the vehicle. then remove the two 10mm bolts on the top side of the battery tray and the one on the bottom side and remove it. remove the positive wires from the starter. the nut is a 12mm. there are two 12mm bolts that hold the starter bracket to the top of the transmission. remove them. if it is a manual trnsmission, remove the two 12mm nuts hold the clutch cable in place. this is so the bracket on the starter will clear the cable with ease. then remove the two 14mm bolts holding the starter in place.
How can i install a starter on a 2002 polaris 325 magaum
Just changed the starter in my daughter's '97 Aspire, two days ago. It'll help if you go buy the replacement starter prior to removing the old one. It cost me a little over $100 with a $30 core charge. First remove the battery. You'll then need a 8mm, 12mm, and 14mm socket. Remove the two 8mm nuts holding the starter to the bracket. Remove the two 12mm bolts holding the bracket to the frame. Once their out, you'll have to clear the studs on the starter and pull the bracket out. Remove the two 14mm bolts that hold the starter to the block(look at replacement starter for position). Once these two bolts are out, undo the electrical connection (two wires) and the starter will come right out. Reverse the process for installation. It took me about 45 minutes to complete.
Yes, there is a third bolt attaching the starter to the black support bracket on the back of the engine (use 12mm wrench)
Do not install the shims. Your starter should work fine.
starter gear is to close to flywheel install starter shim
