Trim around a window just as a door is meant to cover the gap between the window frame and the wall material.
Usually trim is 2 to 3 inches wide so it should cover the bad drywall job fine.
Cut the trim at 45 degree angles at the top and terminate it at the sill. The small or thin side of the trim will overlap the window frame but not extend into the window area ( flush ), the thicker side will cover the space and should nail into the same wall studs as the window frame.
It is becoming increasingly popular for people to decide to finish their basements and garages for more usable space around the home. A common trend is to drywall these areas to match the remainder of the house. However, these areas are prone to moisture buildup that can occur in cemented and paved areas. For this reason, it is important to leave at lease a 1 _ to 2 gap between the bottom of the drywall and the cement or paved flooring when installing the drywall. This will prevent problems such as mold growth and water damage from occurring to the drywall.
Possibly because the drywall wasn't primed with drywall primer, and maybe because the Ultra wasn't stirred properly from the bottom of the can.
You want a tight fit to the ceiling and if there is a gap at the bottom, the base trim will cover it.
Drywall is basically the same thing as sheetrock. It is papered on both sides just like sheetrock and made of the same core components. Drywall is inexpensive and easy to work with since you can nail it, glue it, and even use screws in it. Following the steps below will show you how to install drywall as well as cut it so that your walls will look virtually seamless.Step 1. You can’t put drywall up till all the electrical and plumbing is done. So once that is finished, start marking on the floor and above on the ceiling where the studs are located.Step 2. Put down on the floor a piece of scrap drywall. This way you can raise your drywall up about a half inch.Step 3. It is always best to start in the corner. So take a piece of drywall and sit it on the scrap piece horizontally, gently push it into the corner and be sure the end of the sheet lays against the stud.Step 4. Now you can either nail the drywall with drywall nails, or you can use screws to secure it in a few places. Using your hand, press against the drywall so that it is snug against the stud. Then place screws or nails about 6 inches apart.Step 5. Repeat the same process as 1-4 around the room until the bottom section is finished.Step 6. Measure from the top of the bottom piece of drywall to the top of where the wall will be. If the distance is no greater than 4 inches, then cut the sheet to measure the desired height. Make sure the cut edge is on top, not the bottom.Step 7. Repeat the same process as before until finished.Cutting DrywallStep 1. Take your measurement and mark on the drywall where it needs to be cut. Use something that gives a straight edge so you can draw a line all the way across.Step 2. Take your utility blade and cut deeply along the line you drew on the drywall.Step 3. Stand the drywall up and then snap the section you cut back. Then use your knife to rid the edge of any paper left behind.
If it is mould all the bad has to go
