What you do is you make sure the aggressive dog has on a muzzle and a leash it would also be good if they could come one called. Then make sure the aggresive dog doesn't get to close to the puppy. Also, make sure the puppy doesn't get annoying to the aggressive dog.The adult might show signs by barking ,growling,or biting playfully at the puppy. But,the aggresive dog might growl a loud growl. Then take the puppy away from the aggressive dog.You could also put a leash on the puppy too.

keep them separated for a while. don't let the new guy over power his/her presence and pay as much attention to your old dog as possible. so that it doesnt get jealous. don't let the new guy near his food or water. and DO NOT leave them unsupervised.

Dogs no matter the breed, will have problems receiving a puppy that the dog hasn't fathered. You should think about putting the puppy in a safe place until the old dog gets to know the pup. Anyways, when the pup grows up, you will have some new problems.

Well, there are multiple ways to introduce a young dog to another old dog. One is, when you bring the puppy in the house, go in a room. Close the door. Then hold the puppy next to the old dog, and let them sniff each others faces. If the puppy starts to lick the old dog, that is a good sign. If the old dog starts to lick the puppy, it's a super good sign. If the old dog is a girl, she may as well take the puppy in as her own, if it is a boy dog, he may as well have no interest at all in the puppy. You need to then put the puppy down in the closed-doored room, and watch them. See how they react. If they react good with another, walk out and close the door, and listen to them. Go back in then and see how they are. If the puppy jumps and plays with the old dog, you need to teach the puppy not to, it may as well hurt the old dog. This is how to introduce an old dog to a young dog. Or the other way around. Mostly the other way around.

Slowly. Put both dogs on a leash and make sure you have complete control before they see each other. As soon as they see each other they will become very excited, and they will want to pull you to get to the other dog, in most cases. Let the dogs smell each other while keeping the leash taut and staying in control. If there are no signs of the dogs fighting you can let them start being more active with one another, but you still need to keep a hold of their leashes. If the dogs stick their butts in the air, this is a sign of wanting to play, not fight. Playing can sounds vicious, so you are forewarned. For the first time the dogs play, keep the leashes attached to their collars just in case of an emergency. This allows you to be able to grab a hold of your dog easily to break up a fight. Also, spraying water out of a hose onto a dog fight can help to stop

I would say put them on a lead and take them for a walk together maybe if they get along take them off the lead and let them play together. Don't put one in the house because that's when the other one gets jelous. Then take them back to your house together and start from there, if they do not get alone which is unlikely then just try and take them on a longer walk or you could go out another day with them both meeting up with the existing owner of the puppy and take them on another walk together. When you get both the dogs home try and treat them the same for example don't put one on the lead and one off and Give them a treat each not one. Good luck I hope I have been helpful.

When introducing a new cat/dog into a home with a cat/dog keep the new animal in a separate, closed off room for a few days until it adjusts to it's new environment. Then keep both animals on a leash, and let them meet. A vet told me if introducing a cat into a home with a dog, to put the dog in it's crate and let the cat walk around it.

How can you get a new dog to get along with an old dog?

It all depends. You need to make sure that you give each dog an equal amount of fuss and affection. If you concentrate all your time on the new dog then the old dog can feel jelous or even worse neglected. Anything can happen when you introduce them together. They could get along or fight. Fingers crossed its the first one

Why does your old dog hate your new dog?

Your old dog is probably jealous of your new dog. Your new dog is probably getting a lot of attention and without realizing it, you could start to ignore your old dog. Be sure to give your old dog just as much attention (if not more) as your new dog, so they don't get jealous.

How should you introduce a new dog to an existing dog in the family?

Introduce them outdoors, first have the two on leashes and look at their body language. Make sure the new dog is familiar with other dogs, and your existing dog is okay with other dogs. Make sure there is no hair sticking up, or teeth baring, also be calm. If your existing dog senses that you're uncomfortable, then it will go in protecting mode.
