DEFINETLY NO!!!! guinea pigs get spooked very easily, especially if it is larger than them. I introduced my cat and my guinea pig, and my guinea pig started squeaking so loud it was deafenig. It was so sAD- DONT DO IT!!

∙ 14y agoYou find a piece of wire mesh (make sure the ends are not sharp) and put in your gerbil's tank/cage so it seperates the cage in 2. Put one gerbil on each side (make sure each gerbil has food and shelter). Each day, switch the gerbils -- this is so that they do not claim one side as their own, because then they will fight. After about a month, you can try taking out the divider. If they start to fight, replace the divider and repeat the process for another week or two.

∙ 14y agoMy advice would be, to keep them in separate cages, and then put them ( the cages )
close to each other, so they get to know each other. When they are comfortable, let them out of their cages, but keep an eye on them. Hope this helps!

∙ 12y agoThe best way to introduce two guinea pigs is to give them a big pile of timothy hay and let them get to know each other. If they start to fight then let them because this is natural. Only separate them if you think it is deadly. Another way to introduce them is to give them a bath together using a mild soap so that they smell the same.

∙ 9y agoI have kept many, many pets. Take your gerbils out once everyday. Stroke them gently and don't speak too loudly around them. Let them get used to you. Let them sniff you too. Then, they will be able to recognize your smell. Good luck!
Hmm, I thought you meant introduction of one gerbil to another gerbil. In which case, for same sex, it is relatively easy. For opposite sex, I have only seen failures. The female is larger.
