You can turn the key to the "run" position, and jump across the solenoid with a screwdriver or something metal. If the starter turns, you have a bad solenoid.
If the starter is bad no. Check battery, starter and solenoid to be sure which is bad.
If the battery tests good and battery cables are clean and tight at both ends and you are jumping the starter solenoid correctly with no results, you probably have a bad starter/solenoid.
2/4 SOLENOID CIRCUIT What this means is the solenoid pack went bad. Have it replaced to fix the problem. Could also be a wiring issue from the trans computer to the solenoid pack.
On a Dodge it is solenoid switch valve latched in the low/reverse position. It usually means that the solenoid pack or the valve body in the trans has gone bad.
solenoid is bad ,have it replaced, but check for remote solenoid first some vehicles have another solenoid mounted closer to battery
It sounds like you have a bad solenoid
clicking sound but engine wont turn over. jump across terminals on starter if engine turns over solenoid is bad.
Bad lockup clutch in the torque converter possibly.
If it jump starts, the problem is probably either the battery or a corroded battery connection terminal.
Either the solenoid pack or most likely the torque converter itself.
A bad transmission solenoid will cause hard shifting and can eventually damage the unit. You should change the solenoid if it is bad.
