could be electric, call the dealership if its still under warrenty have them tow it and fix it... happened to me..
It means Evaporative Emission System Leak. Start with the gas cap. A loose gas cap can cause this.
Could be many different things....if you have check engine light, that is best place to start. If not, you can take a look at vehicle PID's. I wouldnt think it is a timing or fuel system issue, if you only have the problem on decel. Maybe EGR fault or vacuum leak.

Turn on the key but don't start the car. Push the gas pedal to the floor and release 3 times. It will now reset.
Probably inner fender. It purges gas fumes at start up so you can always follow the line from the tank to find it.
