Connect jumper cables from well charged battery or another running car 's battery - plus post to plus post and minus post of the good battery to a solid metal part of the car with the dead batter- AWAY from the battery. When you make the last connection, you may get a spark. Batteries sometimes give off hydrogen gas that can be exploded by that spark. Allow 5 minutes or more for some current to flow into the weak battery , then try to crank the dead car. When removing the cables, remove the one that goes to solid metal first.

It depends on the make and model. It's safe on most PWCs so long as the car is not running at the time.
never from another car you'll mess up the computer, you'll have to either call AAA because they have the jumpstart machine or you go and buy one from walmart for around $40
