I would have to know what you mean by "bad tattoo". If you mean a tattoo that you may or may not have gotten from a dirty artist in a dirty environment, and it's starting to look infected (swelling, irritation, red/purple/green color, oozing skin, etc), there's not much help for you than to go to the doctor and get treated for infection. If you got the tattoo at a clean, reputable shop, and it doesn't have any symptoms of infection, then take care of it like you would a normal tattoo. Here are a few steps:
1. Wash your hands with liquid, unscented, antibacterial soap (unscented Dial soap will do fine)
2. Wash your tattoo with your clean hands with warm water and the same type of soap you washed your hands with. Do not scrub it, just use your fingertips.
3. Gently pat dry with a towel, don't rub it.
4. Keep it out of the sun and refrain from submerging it in water for long periods.
5. Use an unscented lotion (like Aveeno baby lotion. I recommend Aquaphor though) to keep it moisturized, just work it in like a lotion with clean hands.
If you follow these steps, you will have a beautifully healed tattoo. But like I said, if it's showing any signs of infection, go to the doctor asap.
