You can use a net. Never use chemicals because my pet died by being poisoned because a rodent was dieing the cat ate it and died so it affects everyone. This is actually not our fault but our neighbors'. We are a all organic farm so please do not use chemicals just for the sake of animals and my dead cat. Try also copper sheeting to prevent slugs. You can also find something this animal does not like then be creative.

There has been no way of keeping them out. But u can use some sort of wire to stop them digging up the garden that is what my mom does.
