It's not necessary to "give tongue" and that one is kept for when you relationship becomes more serious. If you kiss her gently on the lips, she will either kiss back gently, or apply pressure to your lips and this way you'll know she wants to be kissed harder and you can put your arms around her and bring her closer to you.
