If you've ever blown a bubble, blown up a balloon, or aired up a tire, it's pretty easy to see, that air is in fact, exerting pressure in all directions.

Additional answer

If air (or any liquid or gas) didn't exert pressure in all directions, the bit where it did not exert so much pressure would be pushed against by the air next to it and it would shrink, which would cause its pressure to rise to match that of the bit that was pushing against it - if you follow that!. So an equilibrium would be established. There's no way, if you think about it, how air could not press in all directions without the system being unstable and correcting itself.

How do you know that air exerts pressure?

Because the pressure can be measured with a barometer.

Which direction does air pressure push in?

All directions, just like water when you are diving. That is why chocolate-covered cream cakes (and a lot of other stuff) stay together at atmospheric air pressures, but will explode in vacuum, or why water will boil at lower temperatures on high mountains.

When air exerts a force it is called?

-- Pressure -- Wind

Air exerts pressure because it has?

weight

Dry air exerts less pressure than air that has What?

devin in it

What is exerting pressure?

Force exerts pressure. For example: At the surface of the Earth the column of air in the atmosphere above an area has a mass that exerts a force (due to gravity) on that surface area.

How much air pressure exerts in your body?

1 atm

What pressure does cold air exert?

Cold air exerts a low pressure. That is why cold air falls and hotter air rises above it.

Dry air exerts less pressure than air that has?

Dry air exerts less pressure than air that has a higher humidity. In general, air pressure is the sum of the individual pressures of gases present in the air. Dry air lacks any water vapor pressure in the air. Therefore, any air with a humidity above 0% has a higher pressure than dry air.

Cold air exerts more blank than warm air?

air molecules in cold air exert more pressure because they are closer together and collide more often

Dose air in the atmosphere exert pressure on earths surface?

Yes. Atmospheric pressure is the pressure caused by air when it exerts pressure on the surface of earth.

In which direction is air pressure?

Air pressure is exerted in all directions.
