Assuming this is an "if" and not "when" question, every multicellular organism that exhibits embryonic development has stem cells. In embryonic formation, there are undifferentiated cells (stem cells) that accumulate until they are assigned instructions from the newly combined DNA. At this point they become differentiated and develop into multiple tissues.

In humans, stem cells function in the humoral response. I have no knowledge of insect immunology, but I assume they also have stem cells that function in the immune system.

If you cut a tick in half will it die?

If you cut a tick it should die, unless the tick has stem cells in its body which reproduce new parts of the body if it is cut off, for instance if you cut of the head of a tick and it has stem cells in its body it will b able to grow that head back over time, while its head or other part of the body is growing back the body can function the same way it did before

What kind of cells can stem cells produce?

i do not know

What are the types of stem cells?

There are five basic stem cells classifications there is embryonic stem cells, fetal stem cells. There are the Umbilical cord stem cells, placenta stem cells, and lastly there are adult stem cells.

Are fetal cells only source of stem cells?

There are 2 type of stem cells * embryonic stem cells * and adult stem cells fetal stem cells are grouped into the adult stem cell category

What replaces dead or damaged cells?

stem cells

What are different types of stem cells?

There are three types: totipotent, multipotent, and pluripotent. Totipotent: cells produced from the fusion of an egg and a sperm (embryo) Multipotent: cells that can give rise to a small number of different cell types--for example, bone marrow and brain contain this type Pluripotent stem: this type can produce almost all type of cells in the body; called 'true' stem cells I know there are Endothelial Progenitors, Germline Stem Cells, Hematopoietic Progenitors, Mesenchymal Stem Cells, Neural Stem Cells, Signaling Pathway, Embryonic Stem Cells, Cancer Stem Cells and Stem Cell Cytokines.

I know stem cell treatments are controversial and cutting edge but how does the treatment work?

Stem cells are cells that have the potential to become any kind of cell. So if a person's cells have been damaged, the stem cells can be used to recreate healthy cells. Stem cell treatment is still in the research stage. Studies are currently being conducted to inject stem cells to treat spinal cord injuries.

What are unspecialized human cells called?

They are called stem cells.

Cells that retain the ability to divide continuously without specializing are called?

Stem cells are cells that are able to divide continuously without specializing. These kind of cells are undifferentiated biological cells.

How many different types of tissue stem cells are there?

There are three different types of tissue stem cells in the body. They include the tissue stem cells also known as adult stem cells, embryonic stem cells, and induced pluripotent stem cells.
