no, just the mother and the babies would be best. the male could eat the babies or hurt them. Or the mother and father could fight at some stage. Also you should never leave a male and a female hamster in the same cage unsupervised because even if they get on really well, you never know if they could start fighting or annoying each other.

if your hamster goes fat and cant climb very well. it will make a nesting bed in the cage, it will become a little bit agressive it will drink loads of water, it is better if you give them bottled water.. normally if the baby's are born they are very tiny and hairless and depend on their mother to look after them! if the mother is young or a first time mother then she MIGHT eat the baby's. if the babys are born then you have to separate them dad from the cage because he will most likely eat the baby's. don't pick up your pregnant hamster and if you do pick it up gently and not from the stomach!
