Well, you can count the number of pups left and if there are a few missing the mother may have eaten them.
If you get anotherfemale hamster the mother of the hammy they with fight and the female hamster will eat the baby hamster.! If you don't know if you have a female or male go to animal doctor and they will tell you if they female or male?
you will have to ask the person who sold you the hamster that is the only way.
If it has a bunch of baby hamsters
you should probably only sell them to people you know. don't just sell the hamster to the first guy on the street who asks. make sure you know why they want the hamster. ask what kind of pets they have. if they seem responsible for the hamster, sell the hamster for whatever price her mother was or whatever. MIDNIGHT AND OREO ROCK!!!
if it is fatter than normal.
it depends if the mother is still alive no the mother will do that if the mother is dead then yes you will have to make hamster formula you will have to search that yourself because i do not know how to make it
actually no. it will die Margret Johnson, bird/animal carer! pppppoo
I think your hamster is feeding the baby..but maybe you doesn't realise it or doesn't know it...Hamster are nocturnal, they sleep in the day and wake up in the night.http://wiki.answers.com/Are_hamster_a_nocturnal_animals#ixzz19q8JCj2v
no, just the mother and the babies would be best. the male could eat the babies or hurt them. Or the mother and father could fight at some stage. Also you should never leave a male and a female hamster in the same cage unsupervised because even if they get on really well, you never know if they could start fighting or annoying each other.
Animals such as Hamsters and other creatures abandon their young for mostly one reason. It is in the opinion of the Mother Hamster that something is wrong with her baby. I could be physical or mental, but the likely hood of survival to her of the infant isn't good. By all means if you wish take the baby from the mother once you make sure there will be no bonding between them. Find out all you can how one can help feed and maintain a baby Hamster, that is if you are sure you wish to do this. It sounds like it could be a lot of fun. Yet keep in mind the baby may die at any rate, and don't blame yourself if this happens as we don't know it's true health condition, Good Luck.
if your hamster goes fat and cant climb very well. it will make a nesting bed in the cage, it will become a little bit agressive it will drink loads of water, it is better if you give them bottled water.. normally if the baby's are born they are very tiny and hairless and depend on their mother to look after them! if the mother is young or a first time mother then she MIGHT eat the baby's. if the babys are born then you have to separate them dad from the cage because he will most likely eat the baby's. don't pick up your pregnant hamster and if you do pick it up gently and not from the stomach!
If I remember correctly, they start building their nest first.
