How do you know if you're being groomed to be a Jehovah's Witness?

People usually become Witnesses either because they have decided to become one as an adult or increasingly, just like Mormons, Catholics and Muslims, they are born into the religion. It is a fair statement to say, the vast majority of people on earth are the religion they are by accident of birth.

In one Scandinavian survey it stated- On the average it takes approx 2.5 years before someone is accepted for baptism as a JW.

In that timeframe, they hear all sorts of clamor about being a dangerous cult; from relatives, friends, workmates, neighbors. They get an endless barrage of information from former JWs (they call apostates); about how bad they are supposed to be.

Also, you can't be 'groomed / conned' into the house-to-house ministry. But if the word 'groomed' means 'training', then yes, people are trained for the door-step ministry.

Also, There are many things to 'give-up' like Christmas, birthdays, Halloween etc. Also swearing, pornography, immorality (sex before marriage). This does not come by some overnight, or weekend grooming. Nor do these monumental changes come over a period of a month / 6 months / or a year. This provides plenty of time for 'mind / information sorting & filtering;' providing plenty of time for 'ungrooming' by their former religious guidance system (clergy, pastor, priest).
