If married for a long time it is common that each mate feels a comfort zone with their long-time mate and this can sometimes take the romance out of the marriage because of routine. The way to find out and if you can afford it is to take a holiday together and actually have some fun together. Have a romantic dinner for two, etc. It is often difficult to keep that old spark going throughout a long marriage span. Start socializing with friends more. Marriage goes through different phases: When you first meet sparks are flying and you are in love; then the two get married and settle in and work towards a future which can be an exciting time; then children can come along and it can take a great deal of the mother's time to look after the children and once the children are out of the house there is 'the empty nest syndrome' where the man and wife suddenly look at each other and wonder what happened. It is especially difficult for the wife as she has given up much to raise her children and she finds she has to recreate herself by perhaps going out and working; volunteering, etc. Women often find out just how much they love their husbands if he should be seriously ill. Love has never been able to be defined, but one thing, it is about remaining loyal to each other; supporting each other and the most important of all good communication skills. If you are looking for more romance then you can create it with your husband. Communicate more together and this is part of your life where you could go traveling; having other exciting things in your life. If you think the grass on the other side of the fence is greener it often is not.
