There are three ways to check and they're all pretty easy.
One: Look up the tech specs of your laptop's model (sticker on the bottom) on Dell's website. If Dell doesn't have the specs posted, try searching for a third-party website that reviewed your model of laptop.
Two: Take the hard drive out and check yourself. Shut down the laptop, unplug the power cord and remove the battery. Turn the laptop upside down and look for one or two screws with a hard drive symbol near them (often a can/cylinder shape or the letters "HDD"). Remove the screws and the hard drive tray and hard drive should slide out. PATA/IDE hard drives have 44 male pins on them that span most of the drive. SATA drives have two flat connectors.
Three: If you have Windows, open the Device Manager (right click My Computer, click "Manage", click "Device Manager" on the left), expand "Drive Controllers", look for anything that says "SATA". Keep in mind that you may still have a PATA/IDE controller as well as a SATA controller.
(Alternative three: If you are using Linux, open terminal and type "lspci | grep SATA". If anything shows up (typically something along the lines of "Intel [Chipset Model Number] SATA Controller"), your computer supports SATA. Additionally, some distributions of Linux have a GUI application that will show you what drives and controllers you have.)
If you are uncomfortable performing these steps, a local computer shop would be more than happy to assist you.
It depends. If it is a laptop hard disk, and you know the interface (IDE or SATA, there is a difference), you would purchase a 2.5" IDE/SATA Hard Disk Enclosure. If it is a desktop hard disk, and you know the interface (IDE or SATA, there is a difference), you would purchase a 3.5" IDE/SATA Hard Disk enclosure. Hopefully this helps.
an HP or an dell laptop i dont know but if you do send your answer to rocken_sarah@hotmail.com
I am guessing yes but we don't know yet!
If you are looking for a Dell laptop specifically then you probably already know you will be spending a little more. You can get a descent Dell laptop for about $400.00. If you want a mini laptop you will spend about $250.00. If you want a Dell with more features a good price is about $500.00.
I myself have a Dell Laptop. I downloaded Power DVD. It worked for me.
I have a dell laptop as well and although I don't know how to unstick it I dohave an alternitive. You can buy a USB mouse to plug in the side. I prefer a wireless one. This isn't the greatest solution if you use your laptop on the go.

I have used both Dell and Apple and I have to say that Apple is the best, but it's a little pricy
I have a Dell laptop. I don't know; all Dell laptopts are different. Anyway, if you're getting one you need to make sure the graphics card is high or you will be playin on SD.
Actually it always depends on price the features of a laptop, but I think that Alienware laptops are the fastest, and they are all suited for hardcore gaming. I would say that most of the Dell Inspiron models are only in the midclass in performance. To my knowing for 3000 bucks you can buy High-end Alienware laptop which will run anything you can throw a it. I will put an example link of an Alienware laptop, if you don't know how it looks.
reset password for dell inspiron 1520 As far as I know , the laptop bios password cannot be erased by battery discharging , which means u had to go to Dell After-Service for help .
