He isn't. He can be your friend and help out, but don't let him get too personal, and let him know you're just a friend (though a darn good one) if he seems confused. He needs to understand that he has to move on and seek love elsewhere.

Not necessarily. Sometimes it just means that the relationship has lost some of that initial excitement and is settling down to a more normal pattern. Same thing might have happened if he were close by. It just getss harder to gear up the same enthusiam as when the relationship started. But, if you wrote here, you already have some feeling that there might be something to worry about. It could be your own insecurity. Then again, it could be something that you've already felt before this happened. Long-distance relationships are the toughest. How do you tend to a garden if you can't see the flowers or the weeds? So do what you would do if distance weren't an issue. Let what you have between the two of you take whatever course it may. It's going to anyway. If it works, great. If for some reason it doesn't, don't blame him or you or the distance. All distance does is accelerate problems, not create them.
