Unfortunately, if she "needs time" she is rethinking your relationship and it may not be for the better. She seems to be okay with the outcome at this time and may be enjoying her time "alone". There is no amount of time - but instead of dwelling maybe you should concentrate on yourself at this time as well and move on.
