It isn't. The US mint has never made gold quarters, your coin is plated assuming the coin is the same diameter as a normal quarter. Your coin is only worth 25 cents.

What is the value of a gold 1973 US quarter?

Gold-plated but not gold. For one thing, a gold quarter would be worth hundreds of dollars so it would be foolish for them to be put in circulation. The gold adds nothing to the coin's worth and would in fact cost more than its value to remove.

What is the value of a 2006 gold quarter?

25 cents. It's gold-plated but not gold. It's an ordinary quarter that was plated with a tiny amount of gold and sold as a "collectible". If you think about it for a few seconds, a circulating gold quarter would be worth hundreds of dollars given the current price of the metal. Not even the densest bureaucrat would authorize a coin worth that much and put it into circulation for 25 cents.

Worth of a 22 k gold plated?

The worth of 22k gold plated metal varies greatly based on the actual thickness of the plating. Very thing layers of gold plating are only worth a few dollars but thicker layers may be worth hundreds of dollars.

What is the value of a 2007 gold US quarter?

The US never made gold quarters. What you have is a coin that was plated for one of those "special collectibles" sets sold on TV and in the backs of popular magazines. The coins underneath are worth exactly a quarter, the gold plating is worth only a few cents, the package is a couple of bucks. The rest of the $25 to $100 price covers nothing but advertising and hype. If you think about it for a few seconds, a gold quarter would be worth hundreds of dollars so it wouldn't make any financial sense to put them in circulation at 25¢ each!

Found what appears to be a gold 1982 quarter dollar and was wondering if anyone has an idea on how much this might be worth?

It's a novelty item made by plating a normal copper-nickel quarter. Unfortunately it would cost more to remove the gold plating than you'd make selling it. How much is a 1787 New Jersey gold quarter worth?

Did you look at the bottom of the design? It's dated 1999, the year the coin was struck. 1787 is the year that New Jersey was admitted to the Union.ALL state quarters are double-dated like that. Take a look at your pocket change first.Plus, it's not gold. A gold coin the size of a quarter would be worth hundreds of dollars. It's an ordinary circulation coin that someone plated for use in jewelry. That makes it a damaged coin worth only 25¢. It would cost more to melt the gold and separate it than you would get from trying to sell it.
