want to know what rear end it has for a replacement
Broken gears. The differential or ring gear or pinion gears are broken.
Check your rear U-Joint, plus the fluid level in your rear end. Also on my Aerostar, in my brake assembly I found a broken brake spring. If it is the gears in the rear-end you may have to replace. Good luck!
Rear shocks/struts are bad.
Taller persons to the rear of the stage, please.
You can look on the rear axle carrier housing at the metal tag to know what type of rear end is in a 2004 Ram 1500, two-wheel drive.
Broken Shock or spring seat or body mount.
Something has broken in the rear axle.Something has broken in the rear axle.

You will need to remove the plate that's on the back of the rear end housing and look inside at the gears to know for sure.
Sounds like a broken axle shaft
May be a broken spring or support
