it is a 1998 Cadillac Eldorado
You will notice water leaking out of the water pump specifically around the pulley area.
1995 concorse is making a ticking noise under the glove compartment
You will need a new head gasket if you see engine coolant in the oil. I don't know about the thermostat.
HELLO, I AM NEW IN THIS FORUM, I HAVE A 1973 CADILLAC ELDORADO CONVERTIBLE WHICH I AM RESTORING AND I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AS YOU DO. I FOUND THIS LINK, I DON'T IF IT MAY HELP YOU. http://www.tocmp.com/manuals/Cadillac/wiring/index-tt.html I BOUGHT THE SHOP MANUAL AND AT THE END OF IT I HAVE THE WIRING SCHEMATIC BUT IT IS ON A VERY BIG PAPER SIZE SO I DON'T KNOW HOW I COULD PUT IT ON INTERNET OR SEND IT TO YOU BY E-MAIL, IF YOU KNOW ANY WAY TELL ME SO I'D BY GLAD TO HELP.
It depends on the motor im not sure if the eldorado ever came with a 4.9 but i know on my eldorado it was underneath the intake manifold...which involves taking the fuelrail off and is not something i would recommend doing by yourself if your not a mechanic but if you do make sure you change the injector o rings because leaking after this is common and can lead to a bad motor fire
If you know where the intake manifold is, you will find the thermostat housing under it after taking the manifold off. You could also follow the upper radiator hose to your thermostat housing.
On a 1995 Ford Ranger : I know on the 4.0 liter EFI engine , you follow the top radiator hose from the radiator . It connects to a metal pipe which is part of the engine cooling thermostat housing that is bolted to the front of the engine . The thermostat is inside the housing
I just bought a thermostat for a 1995 Club Wagon (essentially an E150 Econoline) with a 5.8 L engine. They sold me a 192 degree thermostat. Is that what you wanted to know?
