When changing the transmission fluid and filter of a car, it is best to know how much transmission fluid goes back into the car. The 1998 Bravada takes close to 12 quarts of transmission fluid to fill.
You know the tube that has the transmission dipstick? The fluid goes into that; there are special funnels at all auto stores.

You can check the transmission fluid, there is a little window on the side of the transmission on the drivers side that shows the fluid level and you can also add transmission fluid on that same side. There is no dipstick to check the level.
Dip stick
If you know where the transmission dipstick is located you use a funnel and pour the transmission fluid into the place where the dipstick came from.
Need to know more information than this, like the year, auto or stick, etc. Sorry
