They don't necessarily get pregnant. They lay eggs and then a male comes along and fertilizes those eggs. But even if they do adult fish left in there with the eggs will eat them.
Goldfish lay eggs.... they can't become pregnant.

∙ 14y agoGoldfish do not get pregnant. They are egg layers. If your fish gets a chubbier tummy in springtime it simply means she is in condition to spawn if a male fish turns up to spawn her. If one doesn't turn up in time then her body will re-absorb the eggs with no problems.
