Stator is bad witch is under your fly wheel or bad switch board that send power to spark plugs
well considering the engine type petrol diesel the best outboard motor to get would be a petrol engine as this is easy fuel to come across just don't get any water in the fuel tank as this will cause the engine to cease and that's bad so get a petrol engined outboard motor and petrol hope this helps

If you have checked and the blower motor has both power and ground then the motor is bad.........
The voltage regulator is bad or the Stator. Check to make sure you do not have something pulling power when the key is off.. Check the voltage should be 12.5 to 14.0, if it is lower then 12.5 with the engine running at idle. Check the stator for ground if the stator is grounding out bad Stator. If not, bad voltage regulator

you probrably have a bad stator
take gas tank off unplug the wires coming up of the stator take a ohm meter between each lead and ground if you get any reading your stators grounded out
