Stator is bad witch is under your fly wheel or bad switch board that send power to spark plugs
The stator is usually underneath the flywheel and produces power for the power packs to fire the spark plugs
You have either a faulty switchbox, or stator.
Doesn't this engine use a rim fire plug? No gap to set on those.
Have you checked the coil's ?
timing belt broke?
Assuming it is getting fuel and you have no spark, replace the ignition module.
Perhaps the spark plug system is not sending electricity to the spark plugs.
Check the compression, and for fire at the spark plugs. Also, ensure that the fuel is fresh and free of water or other contaminates. As long as your compression is around 100 psi, or higher, and no more than 15 psi difference between the highest and lowest cylinder reading, there is sufficient compression for operation.
im not getting fire to the spark plugs but the distributor is getting fire what do i do please help
No fire going to the plugs from distributor have fire up to the module none coming out what do I check for next
This means the timing is set to fire the spark plugs at 10 degrees before top dead center on the compression stroke.
There can be several things that will keep it from firing. Let's assume that it's turning over and there is not fire to the plugs. I would suspect the module. I had problems with them on an Evinrude. They seem to go out quite a bit. There is a test you can perform using a multimeter that will determine if it's bad. I can't remember the values it's supposed to be. Try checking on line. I believe I found it in the past on a website from a manufacturer. Try this site. http://www.maxrules.com/ He seems to have the knowledge and is willing to share it.
