Stator is bad witch is under your fly wheel or bad switch board that send power to spark plugs
The stator is usually underneath the flywheel and produces power for the power packs to fire the spark plugs
You have either a faulty switchbox, or stator.
Doesn't this engine use a rim fire plug? No gap to set on those.
Have you checked the coil's ?
timing belt broke?
Assuming it is getting fuel and you have no spark, replace the ignition module.
Perhaps the spark plug system is not sending electricity to the spark plugs.
Yes, a Mercury 4-stroke outboard engine should fire every time the ignition is engaged, provided it's in good working condition and all systems are functioning correctly. Factors such as fuel supply, battery charge, and proper maintenance can affect its reliability. Regular servicing and checks on components like spark plugs and fuel filters can help ensure consistent firing. If you're experiencing issues, it may be worthwhile to consult a mechanic or refer to the owner’s manual for troubleshooting.
Check the compression, and for fire at the spark plugs. Also, ensure that the fuel is fresh and free of water or other contaminates. As long as your compression is around 100 psi, or higher, and no more than 15 psi difference between the highest and lowest cylinder reading, there is sufficient compression for operation.
im not getting fire to the spark plugs but the distributor is getting fire what do i do please help
The firing order for the spark plugs on a 2005 Mercury Sable with a 3.0L V6 engine is 1-4-2-5-3-6. This means that the spark plugs fire in this specific sequence to ensure optimal engine performance. It's important to follow this order when replacing or servicing the ignition system to avoid misfires and engine issues.
No fire going to the plugs from distributor have fire up to the module none coming out what do I check for next
