Commercially packaged cake mix stays safe to eat long after its expiration date has passed -- up to 12-18 months. It's loaded with preservatives and uses dry milk and egg solids, so it isn't going to go "bad" for a long time. As long as the plastic pouch is unbroken it will taste fine.
Look at the date
You need to stop when it looks like the dry cake mix is mixed in all the way or stop when the cake mix is creamy.
To make your own cake mix just combine the dry ingredients from your recipe and put them in an airtight container. Then when you want to make the cake add the wet ingredients and mix and bake.
It is best to only use cake mix after it has expired for a few months. Any longer and it should just be thrown out.
Put 1/3 of the dry cake mix in a bowl. Add 1/2 the milk and stir to combine. Add 1/2 the remaining cake mix to the bowl, stir to combine. Add remainder of milk to the bowl. Stir to combine. Add remainder of cake mix to bowl. Stir to combine. Cake-milk-cake-milk-cake = three additions, beginning and ending with cake mix. :) Don't overmix your batter, or the cake will be tough.
yes usually if you have one egg short for a cake mix it wont turn out rightMore information:One egg can be replaced in a cake mix with a tablespoon oil and two tablespoons water.
Chromatography is not an appropriate means of getting lumps out of cake mix. You should use a sifter or sieve to get lumps out of a dry cake mix. After liquid ingredients are added, you should use a whisk, a hand mixer or an electric mixer to break up any lumps.
It is possible! But you have to know how to make different colored cake to bake it
you can try it if ithasn't been opened but chances are the leavening agent have lost most of the rising properties
It should be as long as a) there aren't any critters in it b) it's completely airtight and sealed and c) you don't have any severe allergies to mold. If it tastes and/or smells funny, I wouldn't risk it. See the link below.
You probably could; it may make your cake rise a little more. I wouldn't add much, no more than 1/2 to 1 teaspoon. But you really should not need to add baking powder, as there should be enough in the cake mix.
They are essentially the same thing. A cake is just what is the result of baking cake mix. Each is about euqally as unhealthy for you as the other is.
Usually you look at the cake mix box or the calories of all the ingredients and add them up
