if its a 9v battery just put it on your tongue if its charged you'll feel a tingle, if its a twenty four v battery tap the negative and positive jumper leads together a little spark should come out if its charged but be careful. alternatively you could buy a multimeter which is probably the easiest way to check and the most accurate. The battery should read more than what it is for example a 24 v battery fully charged would read a bit higher maybe 26 or 27
